Character Design for Comic Strip

So I’ve been thinking up ideas for comic books since a youngster, for the most part I’d go through a design produce then quit the bugger. I hope that doesn’t happen with what I’m working on at the moment.

Below is a design for one of the characters in the comic strip, just a quick draft, trying to figure out how I want to illustrate it, pen and ink, pencil, full colour, black and white etc. I like the result of the photoshoped image below, but I don’t know if I could handle full on colour.

I’m going to blog the illustrations I’ve done slowly, maybe one set a week and eventually a full web comic.

The comic is set in the future, there’s robots, advanced technology and a hint of the paranormal, I’ll reveal more as I post more pics.

Let me know what y’all think.

  1. I really thought that character design was quite good and the render wasn’t bad either. The face at least conveys many of the ideas in the premise for your story which is a credit to your design skills. I do a fair amount of character design myself and I enjoy seeing the process executed well. I will be back and I look forward to seeing the body and wardrobe develop.
